After agonizing over the lice I found on a Monday evening, I saw the positive yelp reviews for Amy and decided to call, and I’m glad I did. I knew I didn’t want to spend a fortune on this, but I also knew I couldn’t possibly handle this all myself! I was apprehensive about calling at 7 am the next day, but Amy picked up and came over within 2 hours.
As soon as I met her, I felt at complete ease. She quickly set up her station and went to work on my kids and myself, coaching and teaching me at the same time as to how to treat and more importantly, how to comb properly and what to look for.
She was in an out within a couple hours. I’ve even texted her a couple more times later in the week and she responded quickly – one time early in the morning, and another late in the evening. I wouldn’t have been surprised if she didn’t get back to me….most times it’s like a car salesman – as soon as you drive off the lot, they couldn’t care less about you, but not Amy!
It was well worth the money, I’ve regained my sanity and I have Amy to thank for this! I won’t mess around next time (although hoping there will never be a next time) but will be sure to give her a call if this ever happens again.

We have used My Hair Helpers now 2 times 🙁 but Amy makes the visits very pleasant and affordable. Alright here’s the deal: if it were just me, and I got lice, I’d shave my head. But my wife didn’t want to do that, and our children (while probably indifferent) weren’t going to have that treatment done either. At least if my dear old lady had anything to do with it. Kids seem to roll around a lot and who knows how those little lousy buggers spread. But they do. There’s some debate about whether Rid shampoo works (apparently it kills the live lice but not those that have yet to hatch) and some of the RX shampoos while perhaps better than Rid, still have the limitation that they can’t kill the unborn lice.
So this is where Amy comes in. I like her. She’s good people. Personable, prompt, efficient. Also very knowledgeable and calming. Apparently the notion of lice on the westside of Los Angeles hits people hard. There are probably all kinds of class issues tied up with an infestation (the bourgeoise have anxiety!) — and Amy is on it. She also teaches you how to spot the little lousy buggers yourself. Sometimes it’s difficult to discern a louse from dandruff or some other thing in your hair.
She’s 1/2 the price of Hair Fairies and she comes to you. I think she’s got a few helpers as well. She’s got a kit of goods she gives you with all kinds of natural products (shampoos, creams, potions, unguents). When you think about it, if you have a family of people and you need to get the lice out of your hair and house, the cost is quite reasonable. With hair fairies, you’ve got to schlep across town and sometimes wait and the cost is pretty heavy. Her service is pretty efficient and if you’ve got a family, it’s a service that you’ll want to consider. Competent and very competitively priced.

Joyce is amazing!
She was wonderfully playful and patient with my 3.5 year old daughter.
She was meticulous and thorough. Her demeanor was pleasant and non intrusive in your home. She is also was very calming and informative. She taught me how to tell the difference between dandruff and lice. For that information alone, the session was worth it. She was very efficient. i highly recommend her.

I was at wits end this morning when I called Amy. As a business owner, I have very little time as it is, and I have taken too many days in the last 45 days to comb through my girls hair! $100’s spent on otc lice treatments, laundry and new hair brushes.
first, she was at my house within 2 hours of calling her. Second, she went though all my girls (4) heads (and mine!) to check for lice in less than 30 minutes, she was extremely thorough. We had one girl left with lice and she completely removed the nits in an hour. (Maybe she really is an angel?) ;). She not only explained to me but showed me how to maintain their hair and how to comb through it. Thank you so much, Amy – you freaking rock!!!

My daughter had lice once a few years ago – we found the over the counter medication did not work and getting professional help has been vital to getting rid of it. As it happens, we had a birthday sleepover and one of the parents realized her daughter had contacted lice. It’s something we know happens and realize it just needs to be addressed quickly. I remembered my daughters friend went through it recently and recommended Amy – her experience was amazing so I thought we would give her a try as well. Amy was at our home within the hour going through my daughter’s hair, my son’s hair and checking me as well! She was incredibly reassuring, making sure we had as much information as possible to help us. My daughters scalp is very sensitive and she was so kind, careful and understanding with that! Our experience with Amy was amazing and I highly recommend her!

Amy is my savior!
I was 3 days from going to my trip to Miami, and I was informed my niece had lice. I immediately panicked and went into an itch attack! I don’t remember having lice back then but having thick hair, and the possibility to cut my hair horrified me. I started looking online for lice removal and there she was.
Her picture really stood out from the other business. I called her and she was so nice and told me she could see me that day! I felt so at ease because she knew exactly what to say, if only everyone could be so reliable and friendly, the world would be a better world. If you ever see a lice moving, it is nerve breaking and gross that a lil critter is in your scalp, so for her to check me was a relieve, I was lice-free, Amy-APPROVED.
She came to my apartment and checked my sister with long hair to her butt, my neice with medium length, my 2 other neices and nephew (we all have thick hair) was out in 2 hours. In this type of crisis, Amy really comes to the rescue! She really took our hands and walked us step by step, and gave us all a lice 101 and what we can do next time.
Thanks Amy, if I ever have lice I am calling you right away 🙂
I recommend her to everyone.

This is the first time my daughter has gotten lice and I was freaking out!!! Spent so much in over the counter products only to have my daughter complain that it did not smell good at all and burned her poor little head. She just would not sit still with me and kept running and hiding every time I wanted to try to get rid of the little suckers. That’s when I decided to call up the professionals which I should have done as soon as I found out she had lice. So glad I took her to Nicole. She checked me and my son thankfully we were clear and treated my daughter. The products she used smelled great and with just one treatment she is now lice free! She was so helpful informative and reassured us lice can happen to anyone and that my daughter should not feel bad about getting them! She was awesome!!!! Thanks a million Nicole :))

Infections and diseases caused by head lice are generally faced by on-going school students and their family members as the head of students come in contact with the head of other students. The evidence for head lice goes back many centuries. Lice was named as the third plague in the Old Testament of the Bible. The shell casings for lice have been found on Egyptian mummies. Live Lice on the head and their eggs can be killed by opting for different lice treatments that are available in different forms such as lotions, shampoos, and creams and these can be used at home without any hassle. It is necessary for the women who are pregnant or breastfeed their babies to take suggestions from a renowned doctor about the risk-free products.
In the majority of cases, head lice is passed with head to head contact. A smaller number of cases are passed through brushes and combs and sharing hats. Lice don’t like to leave their food supply unless a warm head is waiting for them.
Head lice actually prefer clean hair! It’s more difficult for them to lay eggs on greasy or dirty hair.
